Tenbears Martial Arts Academy provides Martial Arts lessons for students of all ages. The best way to select a Martial Arts School is to visit it and meet the Sensei (the Martial Arts School Director) and the instructors. A visit will give you the opportunity to observe a class to see how they teach their students. By calling ahead, you can make sure that you will be able to observe the type of class you are interested in. You can find out the days and times that the class is held, giving you the ability to visit while the class is being taught.
A Martial Arts Dojo may look like this or it might be part of a shopping center or gym.
Tenbears Martial Arts Academy has various types of Martial Arts equipment for students to use to improve their Martial Arts skills. We use mats, while some schools have more traditional wooden floors. Both have advantages and disadvantages. A Martial Arts School that uses mats on their floor, is more likely to promote or teach grappling or tumbling skills like we do. Since we teach Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, mats make sense. Our students need to learn how to roll, tumble and grapple as part of their Martial Arts training.

Dayton Martial Arts Schools such as Tenbears Martial Arts Academy have a variety of punching equipment on hand for students to use, so that students who are taking a class such as Muay Thai or Mixed Martial Arts can build various punching skills. Those skills include building proper punching technique and improving their punching speed. Using a variety of punching bags helps students simulate punching an opponent. Speed bags can help build endurance. The regular use of a good speedbag for instance becomes an aerobic exercise, improving the overall fitness of that student.
